Spring Semester 2013
Ann Korschgen
Thursday, March 14, 2013
2:30–4:30 p.m. in MU Student Center, Chamber Auditorium
Ann Korschgen, PhD, is Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Missouri. She received her bachelor’s degree the University of Missouri, master’s degree from the University of Maine and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin. The Division of Enrollment Management is responsible for coordinating the institutional enrollment planning effort and for ensuring appropriate data is available for institutional decision-making. For 11 consecutive years, the University of Missouri has welcomed a record-breaking enrollment with large increases in ethnically diverse students.
In addition to leading strategic enrollment planning, Ann’s accomplishments include making college access a priority. She identified means, through working with the Legislative Black Caucus and the St. Louis City Schools, to begin to increase minority student enrollments at Mizzou. She also established the Office of Access Initiatives, a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which coordinates the University’s statewide college access strategy with an emphasis on increasing the college readiness and college-going culture around the state. Another key college access program within her Division is the Missouri College Advising Corps, which has increased college-going rates in 26 high schools in Missouri. Ann also serves as one of the Missouri campus leaders for the national Access to Success Delivery Network.
Ann values global diversity. She was instrumental in a new endeavor to enhance Mizzou’s effort to recruit the best students worldwide. In Fall 2011, she and her staff initiated an international recruitment plan that has demonstrated great promise in expanding the diversity and numbers of the international undergraduate student population.
